Our experienced therapists can tailor your massage requirements to meet your individual needs. You can choose from a strong and deep technique to energise and relieve tension or a much lighter and more relaxing massage. Osteopathy
Osteopathy is a combination of joint mobilisation, manipulation and deep tissue massage. We may also use sports taping and dry needling in a treatment session. This treatment mainly works on the muscles, bones and joints (the musculoskeletal system) to help reduce pain and increase mobility. Sessions will also include lifestyle advice and exercise guidance and prescription. We can offer this treatment for anyone 12 years and upwards.
Remedial & Sports Massage
Sports & Remedial massage is a form of deep tissue massage which helps to get blood and nutrients circulating within the muscles and tissues. Which; relieves aching muscles, aids recovery from injuries (reduces recovery time following an injury by breaking down scar tissue which forms post injury as well as reducing the risks of re-injury), decreases tension, lengthen and loosen tight muscles (which increases flexibility and range of motion within joints), as well as increases mental awareness and relaxation. Massage techniques include various massage strokes, myofascial release and stretching.
Aromatherapy Massage
‘Aromatherapy’ describes the therapeutic use of essential oils, which are carefully blended for each individual client and applied through massage to help improve general health and well-being. A consultation between the client and therapist prior to treatment will help identify the most beneficial blend for each client, taking account of the mind, body and the spirit. Each essential oil has unique properties and regular aromatherapy massage can be used to help alleviate a range of emotional and physical symptoms including muscular aches and pains, stress, anxiety and insomnia. This often results in a feeling of deep relaxation and renewed vitality.
Reflexology
Reflexology is a deeply relaxing therapy that uses the application of pressure to treat the whole body through a series of 'reflex points' on the feet. It has evolved to encompass Eastern philosophies of wellbeing and is often described as encouraging the flow of natural energy (chi) to help bring us back into a state of balance. With every aspect of ourselves, physically and mentally, mirrored in the feet this enables a complete body treatment. Reflexology is often recommended for stress and anxiety and is commonly used by those suffering from insomnia, digestive disorders, menopausal symptoms and ME. It can be used safely after the first trimester and may help some women to relieve associated symptoms of pregnancy.
Hot Stone Massage
Hot stone massage has been used since ancient times and part of rituals designed to cleanse and restore the body. The treatment incorporates the use of warm basalt stones to apply therapeutic massage techniques, and the warmth of the volcanic stone helps achieve relaxation, both mentally and physically. In turn, this allows the therapist to apply an even application and depth of pressure whilst encouraging circulation to the local area, resulting in a reduction in muscle tension throughout the body. In addition, a Hot Stone Massage is a very comforting experience that promotes a deep sense of wellbeing and tranquillity.
Hot Stone Reflexology
The use of hot stones adds an element of complete luxury to your therapeutic treatment. The natural qualities of heat, water and volcanic stone help soften muscle tissue and encourage the flow of circulation to the extremities whilst reflexology techniques help treat physical or emotional imbalances. Treatment begins with the application of Hot Stone Fusion techniques to relax the shoulders and neck, before progressing to specific reflexology points on the feet. An incredibly relaxing treatment!
Thai Foot Massage
This invigorating massage technique is used to ease stress, promote relaxation and to balance the spirit. Incorporating elements of yoga, stretching, reflexology and Chinese massage, this treatment aids circulation and lymphatic drainage as well as helping to reduce stiffness and muscle tension. Thai foot massage is one of the most effective ways to relieve tired and achey feet and will leave you feeling relaxed and uplifted.
Massage for Mobility
Massage for Mobility combines tailored exercises with massage techniques applied through clothing to free up adhesions, aid mobility and generate awareness of the position and movement of the body. It involves looking at different possibilities for getting to the floor and back up to keep those movement patterns alive and available. Depending on the client they may be seated, standing or lying down while passively and actively moving in and out of positions. The aim is to regain lost movement while rediscovering strength and balance. This treatment is suitable for anyone who experiences difficulty with mobility. Please wear loose comfortable clothing to be able to move freely.
Herbal Compress Massage
Herbal compress massage was first used as part of Traditional Thai Medicine. A compress (or “Luk Pra Kob”) containing twenty traditional Thai herbs and plants chosen for their therapeutic properties are heated in a steamer then applied to the body in pressing, gliding, circular or rolling movements. The heat from the compress can relieve stiff or sore muscles and tissues to ease pain and inflammation, while the aroma relaxes, soothes, and invigorates the mind and body. Herbal compresses are applied to specific points thought to unblock the flow of energy (or “sen”) through the body, leaving you feeling relaxed and revived.
Traditional Head Massage
Head Massage has been an important tradition in many ancient cultures to rejuvenate, restore, and unwind. It is a deeply relaxing treatment which involves massaging the scalp, neck, shoulders, upper back, and arms. There are many benefits to the massage including reducing stress and anxiety, aiding sleep, relaxing the muscles to ease tension or headache pain, lowering blood pressure, improving circulation to the head and neck, and stimulating the scalp to promoting hair growth.
Facial Massage
Facial massage involves cleansing and then massaging the face, neck, and shoulders, concentrating on specific acupressure points to relax the muscles, ease tension, reduce puffiness, and promote clearer and healthier skin. This deeply soothing massage can help ease stress and promote relaxation and improved sleep quality.
