Gru, Lucy and their girls – Margo, Edith and Agnes – welcome a new member to the family, Gru Jr., who is intent on tormenting his dad. However, their relatively peaceful domestic existence soon comes crashing down when criminal mastermind Maxime Le Mal escapes from prison and, along with his femme fatale girlfriend Valentina, vows revenge against Gru, and the family is forced to go on the run.
