The partnership initiative that allows members of fitness schemes across nine Scottish regions to access local facilities in these areas at no extra cost, has welcomed a new partner with Live Life Aberdeenshire coming on board.

Introduced in 2019, the LeisureLink Partnership means that when people are on holiday or working away from home, members from participating areas can use local facilities for free as part of their existing home based membership.

From today (Saturday 1st June), Live Life Aberdeenshire now join Aberdeen, Angus, Argyll and Bute, the Borders, Highland, Moray, Orkney, Shetland and the Western Isles in the LeisureLink family, adding 17 new sites to the extensive list of facilities that people from across the partnership regions can enjoy.

High Life Highland Chief Executive Steve Walsh said: “On behalf of the other partners across the country, I am delighted to welcome Live Life Aberdeenshire to the LeisureLink partnership. This collaboration gives leisure members and their families even greater flexibility to use their leisure cards at various sites right across Scotland, and all at no extra cost.”

Cllr Anne Stirling Chair of Aberdeenshire Council Communities Committee said: “We’re delighted to be able to offer our members the opportunity to keep active at leisure facilities across the country. This flexibility means that people working away from home or on holiday can use local facilities from participating areas as part of their existing home-based membership…..”

The Pickaquoy Centre Trust Managing Director James Linklater said “It’s fantastic to have yet another Scottish region covered under this ground breaking initiative. The options now available for our ActiveLife members is superb and we look forward to welcoming Live Life Aberdeenshire customers to Orkney”

The Leisure Link Partnership Scheme is administered by High Life Highland, a culture and leisure charity operating across The Highland Council area.
