A world-weary English teacher regains his compassion for others thanks to an unlikely friendship...

When he goes to work in a school in Argentina in 1976, Tom expects an easy ride. Instead, he discovers a divided nation on the eve of a political revolution and a class of unteachable students. However, after he rescues a penguin from an oil slicked beach, his life is turned upside-down.

Poignant dramedy inspired an incredible true story, starring Oscar nominee Steve Coogan and Jonathan Pryce. Directed by Peter Cattaneo (Military Wives, TIFF ’19), with a screenplay written by Jeff Pope based on Tom Michell’s memoir.
