The Pickaquoy Centre swimming pool will see a delay to its reopening.
Due to additional required works which have been identified during the routine annual maintenance closure, the pool will remain closed for a further week, reopening on Saturday 3 July.
James Linklater, Managing Director of The Pickaquoy Centre, said: “We apologise for this inconvenience and understand that this is very disappointing for our customers, particularly with summer holidays beginning.
“It is unfortunate that these additional works are causing a delay. However, the purpose of the routine maintenance is to ensure the pool is safe for use and to prevent further deterioration that has potential to cause a more significant issue in the future.
“Please rest assured, we have done everything we could to prevent this unforeseen delay and are working closely with the contractors to guarantee the pool reopening on 3 July.
“All affected customers will be contacted as soon as possible. Thank you for your patience and understanding.”
