Experienced Artist Sought to Produce Water Sculpture for Orkney 2025 International Island Games

Sculptor sought for Art Commission

Once every two years, thousands of athletes from across the globe - from Scandinavia to the Mediterranean, the North Atlantic to the Caribbean - come together to compete in the International Island Games. 

Orkney 2025 are looking for an experienced artist (or group of artists) to design and produce a sculpture for use during the Water Ceremony at the Opening Ceremony of the Orkney International Island Games, which is being held on the 12th July 2025. After this, the Sculpture will find a permanent site at the Pickaquoy Centre. 

Up to £12,000 of funding is available for the successful artist. The project is anticipated to begin in October 2024, with completion by May 2025.
